Applied Mechanics (Minor)
Armour College of Engineering offers the Minor in Applied Mechanics to help students bridge the gap between physical theory and its application to technology. Students will gain a broad understanding of such topics as structural analysis, finite elements, nonlinear material behavior, and environmental effects on materials. Topics covered in the program may include design of machine elements, heat and mass transfer, and manufacturing processes.
This minor provides knowledge about the different types of forces and effects based on conditions or systems. Students will also gain knowledge on basic concepts of engineering law and applications.

The Minor in Applied Mechanics consists of at least five courses (minimum of 15 credit hours) not required for this degree program. Coursework may include design of machine elements, heat and mass transfer, and manufacturing processes.
Appropriate substitutions may be made with the approval of your minor adviser.
