With a blend of theoretical content and practical application, learn and then do through
laboratory-based instruction and hands-on projects. Faculty rely on their wealth of professional
experience as they support you through lectures and labs. You’ll take a hands-on, reality-based
approach to your education by using what you learn in class to solve real-world problems.

Graduates of this degree program should be able to:

  • Problem solve, create, and effectively communicate innovative answers to provide cloud-based technology solutions for the problems of business, industry, government, nonprofit organizations, and individuals
  • Perform requirements analysis, design and administration of secure cloud-based systems conforming to policy and best practices, and monitor and support the continuing development of relevant policy and best practices as appropriate
  • Apply current industry, technical, and mathematical concepts and practices in cloud computing and recognize the need to engage in continuing professional development

Included in your curriculum from Illinois Tech will be 16 information technology courses that
equal 48 credit hours for your major. Another 18 credit hours outside your major must also be
earned at Illinois Tech in order to satisfy the remaining core requirements. Transfer students
may apply as many 61 credit hours from other programs or institutions. You’ll then need 66
credit hours or more from the curriculum of this program in order to complete the 127 total
credit hours necessary for your bachelor’s degree.

You can gain acceptance into the program regardless of your educational background or
professional experience. Complete three courses (ITM 301, ITM 313, and ITMO 340) with at
least a B in each course and you’ll be accepted.
