Civil Engineering (B.S.)/Structural Engineering (M.ENG.)
Illinois Tech’s Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering/Master of Engineering in Structural Engineering accelerated master's degree program allows students the opportunity to pursue advanced studies and complete both degrees in as few as five years.
Our undergraduate civil engineering program provides breadth in core sub-disciplines (including structures, transportation, and construction management) and depth in at least one area of specialization (at the discretion of the student and academic adviser).
The graduate program in structural engineering provides students with the advanced knowledge needed to design the built environment. Students learn how buildings and bridges may be designed to resist the forces imposed upon them by external loads, gravity, wind, and earthquakes.
Coursework includes topics in advanced structural theory and design, advanced structural analysis, and advanced reinforced concrete.
