The Certificate in Cybersecurity Technologies program is designed for students seeking knowledge that will prepare them for careers in computer and network security technologies, and to deal with the challenging computer and network security problems facing society. Students will learn management tools to reduce cyber threats, hacks, and breaches by using policy, procedures, and new and emerging technologies across the network, including cloud, mobile, wireless, and wearable technology.
The certificate program requires completion of four graduate courses in topics such as cybersecurity technologies, vulnerability analysis and control, coding security, and database security. Students may apply credits earned in the certificate program toward a graduate degree.

Career Opportunities
An advanced education opens up a variety of career opportunities.
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, but the degree does not need to be in an information technology or a computer-related field. Prerequisites may be required for some courses in the certificate program, but the prerequisites will not be applied toward the certificate.
The United States Department of Homeland Security and the National Security Agency have designated Illinois Institute of Technology as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education.
