The Communication Across the Curriculum (CAC) program at Illinois Institute of Technology exists to support students in developing the communication skills that they need to succeed in college and beyond. In particular, we are committed to ensuring that students know how to communicate well in the context of their own disciplines, whether that means writing book reviews, research papers, technical documentation, or bash scripts.
You are likely to encounter the CAC program in three key ways while at Illinois Tech:
- Taking the writing placement test to determine placement into first-year writing courses
- Taking communication-intensive courses as an undergraduate student
- Utilizing our many programs and resources
