Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority, Society of Women Engineers, Biomedical Engineering Society
Why did you choose your major/what do you want to do with your degree?
I've always loved learning about biology and how the human body works, but I realized that working with patients was not for me. When I started to dive into engineering, I fell in love with the problem solving involved, and biomedical engineering was a perfect blend of my interests. After coming to college, I found the same problem solving in my computer science classes, and I decided to pursue a minor in CS because of this.
What is your favorite thing about the Camras Scholars Program?
I like having the community of scholars to be able to learn from and grow together with.
Where do you see yourself in 20 years?
I don't know exactly where my career will take me, but I hope to be applying computer and data science concepts to biomedical problems somehow. I am excited about the future mostly because it is undecided yet.
How do you think you best represent what it means to be a Camras scholar?
I have held many leadership positions in the organizations I'm involved with over the years, but I am most excited about my current position as VP of Programming and Ritual for my sorority Alpha Sigma Alpha. For the year of 2022, I am in charge of overseeing several other chairs and managing all programming for our chapter to help it run smoothly. This past semester, I was also able to work on a RES-match research project with one of my professors, which has been an incredible growth experience.
