Why did you choose your major/what do you want to do with your degree?
Chemical engineering opened an avenue to explore many different industries. I hope to work as a project manager and handle capital projects pertaining to process equipment design and installation.
What is your favorite thing about the Camras Scholars Program?
I love that I was given the opportunity to take on a research project of any topic. Being an engineering major, I was able to research mental health, which is a topic I am very passionate about!
Where do you see yourself in 20 years?
In 20 years I hope to be holding a managerial position over a team of project engineers. I would hope to have my MBA by then to aid in my goal of business leadership.
How do you think you best represent what it means to be a Camras scholar?
Given the honor of being an executive board member of WiSTEM, I was able to organize events that empowered minority students on campus. The events were related to professional development as well as societal issues. I was also able to take part in IPRO projects, in which I was a project lead. Here, I was able to work with the IIT student body to solve complex issues specifically pertaining to the environment.
