Why did you choose your major/what do you want to do with your degree?
I have always been interested in engineering, but I decided on electrical after participating in robotics in high school. I was on the programming subteam and really enjoyed it, so I knew I wanted to do something that combined both the programming and integrating it with the physical elements of the machine.
What is your favorite thing about the Camras Scholars Program?
My favorite thing about the Camras Scholars Program are the scholars. Each unique person brings so much to the table, and I love watching everyone grow in our three pillars throughout their time at Illinois Tech. Each scholar is an asset to the program and to campus, and I'm so proud to be a part of such an amazing group of students.
Where do you see yourself in 20 years?
In 20 years, I'd like to be working on either autonomous vehicles, electric vehicles, or luxury sports cars.
How do you think you best represent what it means to be a Camras scholar?
I work with elementary and middle school students who need help in math. I enjoy being a mentor and role model to these students, providing them with someone they can turn to for help with problems both in and outside of the classroom. I aim to help them grow in their confidence with math. Growing up, I had some great teachers and mentors who played a significant role in boosting my confidence and academic success. This experience has undoubtedly influenced my current position, and I aspire to be that same supportive figure for the students I work with.
