Why did you choose your major/what do you want to do with your degree?
Architecture, to me, is not just about designing beautiful, captivating structures. It's about creating safe, equitable spaces that inspire hope and a sense of identity in the people we design for, all people, while protecting the environment we live in.
What is your favorite thing about the Camras Scholars Program?
My favorite thing about the Camras Scholars Program is the opportunities it gives me to go beyond my education at IIT and grow more as a student and as an individual.
Where do you see yourself in 20 years?
I see myself working as an Architect in Chicago, creating safe and affordable housing for all people in the city and advocating for sustainable design.
How do you think you best represent what it means to be a Camras scholar?
I am President of 33rd Street Productions, where I organize performances each semester for students at IIT. I am also working on a project to bring Little Libraries to parks around Bronzeville and Bridgeport to provide kids in the city with more opportunities to read and learn.
