Why did you choose your major/what do you want to do with your degree?
I chose my major due to my interest in the power design has to make a change. Architects tend to forget the power they have as designers of our urban and rural fabric. In the future, I would like to focus on cultural preservation and understanding how architects can design in a more sustainable way.
What is your favorite thing about the Camras Scholars Program?
It’s ability to push scholars to seek opportunities in both their fields of interest and outside this setting as well.
Where do you see yourself in 20 years?
I see happiness in all decisions being made both in my career and personal life. I would like architecture to drive everything I do, and for my life to drive my architectural mind. It’s a two-way street.
How do you think you best represent what it means to be a Camas Scholar?
I am a resident advisor on campus, and through this position I have learned a lot about how to handle the diversity of individuals on campus. I have faced many challenges, that although do not affect me directly, have taught me about my skills as a leader and facilitator in the campus community. I like being a face people recognize and feel comfortable approaching, it creates a friendlier environment on campus.
