Why did you choose your major/what do you want to do with your degree?
I chose architecture because it is the perfect convergence of my passions for art and problem-solving! Architecture entails everything that brings me joy- from working with my hands to studying the world around me.
What is your favorite thing about the Camras Scholars Program?
My favorite part of the Camras Scholars Program is connecting with such a diverse group of young adults! It is an incredible opportunity to spend time together, learn about each other’s passions, and even share some laughs!
Where do you see yourself in 20 years?
In 20 years, I hope to have my own architectural firm that can spread joy wherever it is needed, with a special focus on the needs of communities here in Chicago. I hope to have made many new connections after traveling the globe and that I can serve as an inspiration for other aspiring architects, especially young women of color.
How do you think you best represent what it means to be a Camras scholar?
I always strive to be a warm and welcoming presence, and I pride myself on being approachable and helpful! I love to encourage my peers and lend a helping hand, whether it is teaching how to use Rhino 3D or reviewing geometry.
