Why did you choose your major/what do you want to do with your degree?
I chose architecture because I enjoy the wide variety of topics that are included when working on a new project and all other professions and fields you can tap into and use within the project.
What is your favorite thing about the Camras Scholars Program?
I enjoy meeting so many new people and the projects that we are participating in through the program and connections we make.
Where do you see yourself in 20 years?
In 20 years I see myself working in a small firm or hopefully running my own. I would like to be traveling a lot but the more I live in Chicago the more I enjoy it here so I wouldn't be mad if I stayed around this area, and potentially returning to IIT's architecture program as a professor.
How do you think you best represent what it means to be a Camras scholar?
I have volunteered and participated in organizations within my school as well as my hometown community all of my life. Some of those organizations include FIRST Robotics and CHUM - a non-profit in Duluth, as well as many more. This upcoming school year a few of my fellow Camras Scholars and I are starting up a project that focuses on the health of the Chicago River. We have high hopes this will help students at IIT become more proactive within the broader Chicago area and the environmental concerns that impact us all.
