Why did you choose your major/what do you want to do with your degree?
I've always been a technical and a systematic person. Math was always my favorite subject because to me, it made logical sense. Rules work this way and in order to achieve this answer you must do these steps. There's nothing that comes as a surprise in math. There's no such thing where you can have two answers but one is just better. There's only one correct answer. The same goes with Computer Science. If you want to code something, there's relatively only one way to do that. Except, to me it's much cooler than math as you can create something from nothing from code.
What is your favorite thing about the Camras Scholars Program?
Besides being given the opportunity and the necessary aids to help me enroll in this school, my favorite thing about the Camras Scholar Program is the lessons that I will learn over the years that correspond with their three pillars of leadership, service, and research. I would also like to add one more responsibility as that is also something I will definitely either learn or become better at.
Where do you see yourself in 20 years?
In a stable job with a stable income to the point where I am able to live comfortably. Hopefully I am able to use my income to good use in terms of those who are in need, for those I love, and for myself. There isn't much besides that since my biggest priority is that I am happy.
How do you think you best represent what it means to be a Camas Scholar?
I used to be captain of my track & field team during highschool for two years. Since our practice was a little bit different than what most students would expect from their first time doing track & field, I would usually lead by example and help others out with their form or any questions that they had. Same went for any meets that we had. I also do the same thing in our household as I am the oldest of five. I always try my best to show them the best behavior so they can do the same as they grow up and use me as an example in any situation they find themselves in.
