AIAS Guest Lecturer: David Benjamin

The American Institute of Architecture Students at Illinois Tech (iitAIAS) has chosen architect, designer, and educator David Benjamin to give its AIAS guest lecture for spring 2020. Benjamin is both the founding principal of The Living, as well as an associate professor at Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation.

At The Living, Benjamin leads a team of architects, designers, and researchers in the research of transformative building technologies through prototyping. The Living—founded by Benjamin in 2006 and acquired by Autodesk in 2014—operates at the intersection of biology, computation, and sustainable design, producing highly innovative results.

Benjamin will discuss his work at The Living, which redefines architectural stakeholders and building methods, at S. R. Crown Hall at 6 p.m. on February 19.
