Biomedical Engineering Society 12th Annual Pumpkin Launch

The Pumpkin Launch is IIT-BMES’ most popular event every year. This year, the Pumpkin Launch takes place on family weekend, Saturday, October 15, from 12 to 4 p.m. on Ed Glancy Field. Annually, this event attracts many spectators not only from the Illinois Tech community, but from all over Chicago.

This event encourages students to form teams to build pumpkin-launching catapults. Awards are given to teams whose launcher sends a pumpkin down the field the furthest, with the most accuracy, and to the launcher that is the crowd favorite.

After the Pumpkin Launch, bring your family to the Rettaliata Engineering Center Atrium to warm up with hot chocolate and apple cider while watching cool engineering demonstrations!
