Armour College of Engineering's Biomedical Engineering Department will host a seminar featuring Keigo Kawaji, PhD, Assistant Professor in the Biomedical Engineering Department at Illinois Tech on Friday, February 23, 2018.

Dr. Kawaji is a new Biomedical Engineering faculty member who has a full BME career and holds BSE, MS, and PhD degrees in BME.
This seminar presentation aims to offer the audience an opportunity to contemplate what it means to become a professional Biomedical Engineer.
In coordination with numerous on-campus career fairs and skills development workshops, this seminar will offer several thought-provoking exercises that may help each BME student better prepare to present oneself as a fully trained engineer.
The three take-home messages from this presentation are the following:
One: Appreciate the richness of your life episodes that shape who you are today.
- The power of a) self-discovery and b) mentorship.
Two: Dedicate plenty of time to think about what it means for you to become an engineer.
- Prepare and deliver your story or an episode that tells who you are.
Three: Acquire specific techniques to help you become a better biomedical engineer.
- Learn through good (and sometimes bad) episodic examples.
