Book launch party: Coin-Operated Americans
Join the Department of Humanities and Carly Kocurek, assistant professor of digital humanities and media studies, to celebrate the launch of her book Coin-Operated Americans: Rebooting Boyhood at the Video Game Arcade.
The book examines the factors and incidents that contributed to the widespread view of video gaming as an enclave for young men and boys. Coin-Operated Americans holds valuable lessons for contemporary culture as we struggle to address pervasive sexism in the domain of video games—and in the digital working world beyond.
Refreshments and snacks will be served, so please RSVP to humoffice@gmail.com.
