Career Pathways by Program: Brian Peterson, Hehmeyer Trading + Investments
Brian Peterson, Managing Director, Hehmeyer Trading + Investments, will be giving a presentation on careers in finance on Wednesday, September 19 from 4:30-5:30 pm in DTC Room 470.
At Hehmeyer, Brian manages the quantitative market making algorithms in futures and cryptocurrencies and drives corporate digital assets strategy. He also participates in portfolio allocation for the firm's asset management division. Brian is also a Managing Member in the Braverock Investments LLC and a Lecturer in the University of Washington where he created the Quantitative Trading course sequence. He is the lead instructor in the Graduate Applied Math, Computational Finance and Risk Management program's course in Quantitative Trading Strategy Development. He has a background in Computational Physics and Computer Science from University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has previously worked through various roles such as Head Trader, Automated Trading at DV Trading, Senior Risk and Quant Analyst at CIBC, Senior Financial Engineer at Breakwater Trading and Director of Quantitative Analysis at Cheiron Trading. Brian has experience in areas such as Portfolio Management, Technical Architecture, Quantitative financial analysis and project delivery. As the lead of Quantitative Trading Desk Brian is involved in developing and rolling out new quantitative strategies for futures market.
