Career Pathways by Program: Katie Fischer, Northern Trust
Katie Fischer, Second Vice President at the Northern Trust will be giving a presentation on careers in finance on Wednesday, October 10 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. in the DTC Room 470.
Katie has an experience of nearly 15 years in the finance industry. She started her career in the financial services industry as broker support on an institutional trading desk, later driving her own book of business as a broker. As the financial landscape continuously changed and the economy evolved so has her role in the financial industry. When competitors failed and regulators have made drastic changes, she shifted from the direct client facing side into operations of the industry. Currently, she is leveraging her tenure in different facets of the futures industry by serving as a Client Services Manager at The Northern Trust Company for the past nearly four years. Katie is leading and running the day to day middle office responsibilities for large investment clients across multiple asset management platforms. She oversees the institutional client service function with dotted lines reporting to fund managers and client directors. She facilitates internal and external relationships all while managing the daily operations. She partners with her team, executive management, investment managers, and her direct client relationships to help deliver exceptional client service and performance. Her area of specialties include: operational and financial management, budget analysis and expense control, analyzing critical business requirements, Identifying deficiencies and developing cost effective improvement and product and production management.
