In this Department of Biology colloquium, three Ph.D. students will present their research. Topics covered include: 1) studies of the main ion pump of the pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa; 2) role of mitochondrial elongation in starvation-induced cell death; and 3) small angle x-ray diffraction studies of cardiac muscle fibers in the super-relaxed state.
