The Mathematics of Juggling
Description
In the early to mid 1980's a notation for describing both simple and complex juggling patterns was invented and is now known as "site swap" notation. This notation, which was developed by mathematically inclined jugglers, has some interesting mathematical properties which will be discussed.
Creating your own juggling patterns with site swap notation is not difficult, but juggling them can be. Fortunately there are now many computer programs which allow you to see juggling patterns written in site swap notation. Some of these programs will be demonstrated and the audience will be encouraged to produce their own juggling patterns.
