The Physics of Cell Shape

Cells take on many shapes as they perform their functions, grow, and divide. Dinner will talk about recent quantitative imaging experiments and modeling to understand the forces underlying cell shape—specifically contractile dynamics—in prokaryotes and eukaryotes.
