Precipitation Microstructure Modeling for Computational Alloys Design
Description
Precipitation is an important microstructure feature in alloys; and it affects many aspects of material properties and performance. With its importance, precipitation modeling and simulation has been a very active research area, and there exists many approaches to model precipitation microstructure. This presentation discusses various modeling approaches of precipitation modeling for computational alloy design, an area where engineers optimize alloy compositions and processing parameters using available computational modeling tools. Examples of precipitation microstructure modeling and its impact to industrial alloys and applications will also be discussed.
