Join the Paul V. Galvin Library and the Center for the Study of Ethics in the Professions as we discuss publishing ethics. This session covers the ethical aspects of publishing your research, including common ethical issues in journal submissions, preprint sharing, and compliance with funders’ public access mandates to help maintain research integrity during publication. This presentation will take place on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, from 12:45–1:30 p.m. in the Galvin Library’s Library Learning Center.

Topics of the presentation include: plagiarism and self-plagiarism; authorship and contributor roles; ethical considerations in open access publishing; and understanding and complying with public access mandates, including identifying reliable open access publishing options (journals, repositories, and platforms). Charles W. Uth, senior engineering librarian at the Galvin Library, will lead the discussion. This event can be attended both in-person and online. Registration is required.
