Armour College of Engineering students are encouraged to join Illinois Tech's Tau Beta Pi Student Chapter for an event featuring Steve Kleinman, who recently retired as Senior Manager of Training Services at UOP, A Honeywell Company. The workshop will focus on the factors affecting the profitability of the refining industry. Food will be provided. Learn more about the learning objectives below.

  • Identify the economic fundamentals and factors that affect the profitability of oil refineries.
  • Appreciate the complexity of predicting oil price.
  • Establish the link between Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and demand for refined products.
