IIT scientists will talk about Ebola in a special lunchtime forum on Tuesday, October 21, 12:45 p.m. to 1:50 p.m., SB 104 Auditorium. Lunch will be served; all are welcome. Please RSVP to cronin@iit.edu.
Kathryn Spink, virologist, senior lecturer of biology, Chief Health Professions Advisor, and Chair of University Premedical Advisory Committee, and Oscar Juarez, assistant professor of biology whose research focuses on infectious diseases, will discuss the history, biology and pathogenesis of the virus, including how it is transmitted and treated. They also will cover some frequently asked questions and suggest reputable sources for further questions, such as the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) website.
