Scientific Computing at Fermilab
Host
PhysicsDescription
Every stage of a modern High Energy Physics (HEP) experiment requires massive computing resources. Detector and simulation generated data have to be processed to create physics objects, which are then stored and made available to the experimenters for analysis. All these steps utilize sophisticated workflows, algorithms, and software tools and require facilities with massive computing resources. Spentzouris will discuss the current HEP computing model and the requirements that motivate it in the context of the scientific computing activities and facilities at Fermilab.
