Statistical Methods, Tools, and Concepts for Scientific Research

Time

In this presentation, guest speaker Jingyun Yang, an assistant professor in the Department of Neurological Sciences at Rush University Medical Center, introduces some useful statistical methods and tools he often uses in his research, such as a time-varying effect model for the analysis of intensive longitudinal data; survival analysis for the analysis of time-to-event data; R Markdown for producing a reproducible report; and easy generation of interactive plot. Such statistical methods and tools can improve one’s research in food science and nutrition. Yang will also cover statistical concepts that are commonly encountered in scientific research, such as multiple comparisons.
