Get Your Game On!
Keating Sports Center is home to Illinois Tech’s Department of Athletics, which is led by Usha Gilmore, a former Illinois Tech coach and WNBA player. The building itself, its exterior lined with black-tinted windows, was designed by Myron Goldsmith (ARCH ’39, M.S. ’53), an Illinois Tech alumnus who was an acclaimed architect, engineer, and faculty member. Keating dates back to the mid-1960s and has the history to match—including Michael Jordan’s foray into professional baseball! The Scarlet Hawks field 17 men’s and women’s varsity teams across nine sports. Plus, every student has access to Keating for fitness classes such as Zumba and yoga, to use its facilities, and for intramural leagues, leagues, and tournaments, which run the gamut from cricket to volleyball to badminton.
