2014 Tsao Family Graduate Scholarship Recipients

At the 2014 CS Commencement ceremony, which was held May 17, the first recipients of the newly established Tsao Family Graduate Scholarship program were announced: Ajay Anthony, Bahareh Sadat Arab, Eduardo Berrocal, Kun Feng, Bo Feng, Taeho Jung, Antonios Kougkas, Scott Krieder, Shuhui Li, Tonglin Li, Ning Liu, Ehsan Mohammady Ardehaly, Xing Niu, Maria Ramire-Loaiza, Sandeep Palur, Manali Sharma, An Shi, Yabin Song, Xin Wang, Bingqing Xie, Xi Yang, Xu Yang, Yanlong Yin, Li Yu, and Zhou Zhou. Each of the 25 recipients was awarded $2,000 to help them in recognition of their high achievement in their graduate studies. The awards will be used to aid in their future studies and were funded by the Tsao Family Foundation, through its generous gift of $50,000 earlier this year.

Victor Tsao is an IIT alumnus (M.S. CS ’81) and co-founder of Linksys. Among the many honors he and his wife Janie have received are being named Entrepreneurs of the Year by Inc. Magazine in 2004. Victor also received the IIT Alumni Award for Professional Achievement in 2007.
