Are You Ready for the Spring Career Fair?

IIT's Spring Career Fair is this Thursday, January 30, 2014, from 12 noon-4 pm in Hermann Hall. Make sure you're prepared:

• Register and plan the professional attire you will wear.
• Research the companies recruiting business students and all majors, and identify the open positions for which you will be a good fit.
• Download this free iPhone app with job search tips developed by IIT Stuart Career Advisor Steven Steinfeld.
• Arrive at the Career Fair 15 minutes early with copies of your resume, a portfolio with paper and pens, and your short 30 second intro prepared.
• Give firm handshakes, take employers' business cards, and follow up after the fair with thank you notes to express your interest.
• Don't ask employers if they will sponsor you, attend unprepared, visit booths with groups of friends, provide your resume with no context, monopolize recruiters' time, or overlook employers based on their business type.
