Armour College Professor and Director of WISER Presents Plenary Address at International Fluidization Conference

Hamid Arastoopour, ChBE, MMAE and Henry R. Linden Professor of Engineering and Director of IIT’s Wanger Institute for Sustainable Energy Research (WISER), presented a plenary address at the 11th International Conference on Fluidized Bed Technology (CFB-11) which was held May 14-17 in Beijing, China.

The conference was designed to address both fundamental and applied aspects of circulating fluidized beds and fluidized bed systems. Arastoopour’s lecture titled, CFD Modeling of CFB: From Kinetic Theory to Turbulence, Heat Transfer, and Poly-Dispersed Systems, was based on a paper he co-authored with Dimitri Gidaspow, Distinguished Professor Emeritus of the IIT Chemical and Biological Engineering Department.
