Armour College Seeks Nominations for UIF program at Stanford University
Illinois Institute of Technology is currently recruiting a team of five students and one Faculty mentor to represent IIT as part of the University Innovation Fellows (UIF) program at Stanford University's Epicenter, which calls on students and their peers to dream, design and deliver innovations that solve real-world problems. This opportunity is run by the National Center for Engineering Pathways to Innovation (Epicenter), which is funded by the National Science Foundation as a partnership between Stanford University and VentureWell (formerly NCIIA).
Armour College is calling for participation of engineering students and Faculty to compete for positions on the IIT team. Selected team members will work alongside one-another in a 6-week training and coaching course this coming Spring (January 3 - February 13) to survey the entrepreneurial landscape at IIT and identify opportunities for impact. The purpose is to cultivate each student as a leader who coalitions others in support of lasting institutional enhancements that create a vibrant culture of innovation - one that produces scientists and engineers with an entrepreneurial mindset, regardless of career path. How to Apply
Applications for one of the five positions on the IIT team are requested from students of all class years (from freshmen to post-doc) and all disciplines. For favorable consideration, students should be willing to serve as change agents to help expose fellow students to more hands-on, experiential and entrepreneurial learning opportunities. Please apply through the IIT Application form only by Monday, October 20.
Students and Faculty nominated by the various Colleges at IIT will compete for placement on the IIT Team. Once selected, the IIT team will work together to submit their final application to UIF by the final deadline (10/31/14).
