Bariff Showcases MAC Program to European University Leaders
On Thursday, May 15, Marty Bariff, Associate Professor of Information Systems, presented on IIT Stuart's participation in the IBM Talent Assessment Initiative to a group of leaders from the United Kingdom and selected European institutions at the offices of the British Consulate-General in Chicago. Senior administrators from 20 different universities in the UK and other European countries were introduced to Stuart's unique Marketing Analytics and Communication program and Stuart students' engagement with IBM's Academic Initiative tool.
"We are thrilled to strengthen our partnership with IBM and to see our marketing analytics faculty engaging with industry and academic partners in this way," said Interim Associate Dean and MAC Program Director Krishna Erramilli. Following the presentation, Valinda Scarbro Kennedy, IBM’s Academic Initiative Skills Leader, noted the impact of Bariff's talk on the audience, as two university leaders had already expressed interest in implementing the tool at their schools.
Bariff was invited to speak at the private event in recognition of his expertise with the IBM Academic Initiative and his use of Cognos, SPSS Modeler, IBM Digital Analytics and the Analytics Talent Assessment platform, ultimately showcasing for an international audience the analytics/big data partnership between IIT and IBM.
