Commencement 2024: Where One Chapter Ends and the Next Begins
On Saturday, May 11, 2024, Illinois Institute of Technology’s 2023–24 graduating class of 2,497 students will celebrate a milestone in their lives at Credit Union 1 Arena in Chicago during the university’s 155th Commencement ceremony.
This momentous occasion marks the ending of one chapter and the beginning of another—a journey that took effort and perseverance to complete. Much has changed since many of the graduates began their time at Illinois Tech—including enduring and powering through a once-in-a-generation worldwide pandemic and the impact it had on all of our lives—but they will walk across the Commencement stage having persisted through it all and having developed the skills needed to become a tech-focused leader in a changing society.
To mark this occasion, Illinois Tech is highlighting seven students, one from each of the university’s colleges, who have demonstrated exemplary work and determination in their field. Each of these students shared their memorable experiences, the lessons they learned along the way, their future aspirations, and what Illinois Tech means to them.
