CS Graduate Student Selected for Google Women TechMakers Scholars Program
Noor Afshan Fathima, an India Online computer science graduate student, has been selected for the 2017 Asia-Pacific Google Women TechMakers Scholars Program. She will receive $1,000 and funding for a scholars’ retreat at Google’s campus in Seoul, South Korea.
The Women TechMakers Scholars Program aims to further the vision of Anita Borg, founder of the Institute for Women and Technology (now the Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology) and the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing, to create gender equality in the field of computer science by encouraging women to excel in computing and technology and become active leaders and role models in the field.
