Davis Talks About Waste Management at Lithuanian University
Blake Davis, INTM's Adjunct Faculty and expert in Sustainability and Urban Agriculture, recently returned to IIT after a trip to Lithuania where he spoke to students at Vilnius Gedimenas Technical University about waste management. Davis was selected by faculty from the Research Institute of Environmental Education to be one of sixteen visiting professors from various countries in 2013. He presented lectures on trends and cutting-edge research in waste management, with sub-topics that featured his work on IIT IPROs including the “University as a Sustainability Lab,” and “Utilizing Organic Waste for Fuel and Fertilizer.”
Davis holds two degrees from IIT in City and Regional Planning. In addition to teaching, Davis has facilitated numerous IPROS for IIT. His work developing solutions for ecological and environmental issues facing the university as well as businesses, neighborhoods, and entire regions of Chicagoland has garnered university-wide as well as local, national, and international acclaim. Many of his projects have won awards and led to grants both for implementation and further research, benefitting IIT as well as the surrounding community.
