Free Electronic Access to WSJ and Barron's for IIT Students

Date

IIT students, faculty, and staff have free access to electronic versions of the Wall Street Journal and Barron's financial magazine, along with other resources through DowJones, through IIT campus libraries. All IIT Stuart student are encouraged to take advantage of this free subscription. IIT is one of very few universities to provide this free access for students.

In order to set up your online and electronic access (which will also work with tablet, e-reader, and smartphone apps for both publications), please take the following steps:

  • Create your profile and follow the instructions to link your IIT credentials (through your Banner ID or "A" number) to a DowJones account. You will be asked to enter your "A" number two times. Please note that you must be on-campus for the initial account creation. However, once your account is created, you can access the content both on- and off-campus.
  • After entering your "A" number, you will be directed to WSJ.com to create an account. You will be prompted to enter an email address and password for your account. Your email address will become your log-in username.
  • Once your account is created, you will be logged in to WSJ.com. The email address and password you entered can now be used to access WSJ and Barron's online.
  • To access either publication using a tablet, smartphone, or e-reader, download the appropriate app and log-in using the email and password you used in step 2.

Please direct any questions or problems activating your account to the Galvin Library staff.
