Illinois Tech's ASCE Student Chapter Sends Team to Great Lakes Student Conference at Milwaukee School of Engineering
Illinois Tech was well represented at the 2017 Great Lakes Student Conference by 30 ASCE-IIT students. The event was held at the Milwaukee School of Engineering from March 31st- April 2nd. Our students competed in 8 competitions against 18 other universities. The results follow:

Concrete Canoe: 12th place

Mystery Design (Paper Airplane Design and Flight): 2nd place
- 1st in distance covered
- 3rd in productivity
Environmental Design (Landfill Liner Design): 11th place
- 5th in efficiency
- 9th in effectiveness
Materials Design: 6th place overall
- 6th in thermal insulation
- 4th in compressive strength
- 9th in density
