INTM IPROs Win Top Awards at IIT IPRO Day Spring '13

IIT’s INTM program received several awards at IIT's 2013 Spring IPRO Day last week. Professor Will Maurer's "Integration of Process Improvements," an ongoing project with A. Finkl & Sons, took IIT School of Applied Technology Dean's Choice Award. The students' work for the world's leading supplier of forging die steels, plastic mold steels, die casting tool steels and custom open-die forgings is focused on solving an industry-wide problem related to perfecting steel grinding and finishing processes.

INTM Faculty member Phil Lewis’ project, “Process Improvements in Auto Electronics Manufacture” (IPRO 326) with OMRON Automotive Electronics, won first place in the Business and Manufacturing Process Improvement track.

Dr. Dan Tomal’s project, “Techno-Economics of Smart Grid Renewable Energy Technology” (IPRO 338) with the Electrical Contractors’ Association/Chicago won first place in the Energy and Environmental Sustainability Track.
