Margaret Power presented at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee
Humanities Chair and Professor of History Margaret Power presented an all-day workshop on teaching Latin America in the Cold War at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee in July. The University hosts seminars for high school teachers from Wisconsin and across the United States. As part of her presentation, Power discussed relevant texts, the use of music to teach about specific events and ideologies, online resources, connections between gender and the Cold War, and how to use and analyze relevant film in class. She also discussed several specific topics, such as Chile and the presidency of Salvador Allende, and Guatemala and the presidency of Jacobo Arbenz.
