Menger Day 2019 Features Student Research, Guest Lecture
The Applied Mathematics Department hosted its 12th annual Menger Day celebration April 1. This year's guest lecturer was Xiao-Li Meng, Whipple V. N. Jones Professor of Statistics at Harvard University, whose talk, entitled “How Small Are Our Big Data: Turning the 2016 Surprise into a 2020 Vision,” examined quality vs. quantity of big data.''
The day celebrations also recognized student achievement, as well as showcased student research during a poster session.
