Michael DeAnda named Graduate Student Representative for Video Game Studies Special Interest Group

Michael DeAnda, a graduate student in the Technology and Humanities Ph.D. program, was recently named a graduate student representative for the Video Game Studies Special Interest Group of the Society for Cinema & Media Studies (SCMS). This is an elected position in the largest special interest group of SCMS.

Founded in 2008, the group’s mission is to bring together video game researchers and experts in other areas of media studies to facilitate development and interaction among scholars. The group organizes conferences and workshops, encourages the inclusion of video game-related scholarship in Cinema Journal and other publications, and spreads awareness of the work being done in this field.
