MMAE Associate Professor Matthew Spenko's Robot Featured at Museum of Science and Industry's Robot Revolution

Date

Associate Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Matthew Spenko, will have his robot featured in an exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry titled “Robot Revolution.” The exhibit will open on Thursday, May 21, 2015. Spenko has been building his robot over the last four years. It will be on display along with a second robot he helped create during his post-doctoral work at Stanford University.

Visitors will have the chance to interact with robots that have rarely been shown to the public before and discover their astonishing skills. Control an all-terrain crawling robot, go head to head with a tic-tac-toe-playing ‘bot, or watch a competitive game of robot soccer. Feel a therapeutic baby seal robot react to your touch, and participate in a live drone show. In this immersive experience, attendees will step into a visionary world where robots are not just a curiosity, but an amazing asset.
