Awards

Frank Lane (Co-PI) and Phil Troyk (PI, Biomedical Engineering) have been awarded a grant of $11.8M over five years to test an intra-cortical visual prosthesis system. Illinois Tech is the lead institution, in collaboration with the University of Chicago; Johns Hopkins University; University of Texas, Dallas; Sigenics, Inc; MicroProbes for Life Science; and the Chicago Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired.

E.J. Lee and Nikki Ditchman have received a grant from the National Multiple Sclerosis Society for an exploratory study of microaggressions experienced by people with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in the workplace.

Caribay Garcia Marquez and Kristina Bauer were awarded an IIT Career Services Faculty Innovation Grant for work on Ms. Marquez’ thesis.

Samantha DeDios-Stern received the 2016-17 Foundation for Rehabilitation Psychology Dissertation Award. Her dissertation title is "Cognitive Assistive Technology Use Among Adults with Multiple Sclerosis: Application of Self-Determination Theory". Mentor: Eun-Jeong Lee, Ph.D.

Katherine Nieweglowski & Briana Hatton were selected as winners of the American Rehabilitation Counseling Association (ARCA) Understanding Rehabilitation Counseling through Advocacy Work Award for their project "Sharing Stories of Recovery to Combat the Stigma of Mental Illness." They will receive travel funding to present their project at the American Counseling Association conference in San Francisco in March. 

Kristina Bauer received a "2016 Editor Commendation" from Journal of Business and Psychology.  With nearly 500 papers submitted to JBP, only eight received this distinction.

Greg Chasson has been appointed to the editorial board of the Journal of Cognitive Psychotherapy.

E.J. Lee has been appointed to the American Psychological Association Committee on Disability Issues in Psychology (CDIP): 2017-19.

Scott Morris has been appointed a Fellow of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
