Associate Dean Siva Balasubramanian Publishes Multiple Articles in Marketing Journals

Siva Balasubramanian, Associate Dean and Harold L. Stuart Professor of Marketing, recently had one paper published and two accepted for publication. “Consumers’ Value Perceptions of E-customization – A Model Incorporating Information Framing and Product Type,” is in press for the Journal of Consumer Marketing, with co-authors Pingjun Jiang and Zarrel V. Lambert. “Plenty of Attitude: Evaluating Measures of Attitude Toward the Site,” was recently published in the Journal of Research in Interactive Marketing with co-authors Robert Boostrom and John H. Summey.“Reflections on Emotional Attachment to Brands: Brand Romance and Brand Love,” was recently published in the Journal of Customer Behaviour with co-author Hemant Patwardhan.

Associate Dean John F. O. Bilson Publishes Two Articles with Ph.D. Students

Associate Dean and Professor John F. O. Bilson has recently published two articles with IIT Stuart Ph.D. students, including “Bayesian Momentum Strategy of the Exchange Rate” with Ph.D. student Namhoon Lee in The International Journal of Finance, and “The Economic Value of Money Market Funds in and around the Financial Crisis of 2008” with Ph.D. student Lalita Hongratanawong in the UTCC International Journal of Business and Economics.

Assistant Professor Jiong Sun’s Research Published in Journal and Institute in Competitive Strategy

Assistant Professor Jiong Sun’s paper, titled “Sustaining Long-term Supply Chain Partnerships Using Price-Only Contracts,” has been accepted for publication in the European Journal of Operational Research. The paper is co-authored with Laurens Debo of University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and was presented at the Stuart Friday Research Seminar Series. A second paper, titled “When Technology Products Meet Social Needs: Product Pricing and Design,” was invited and discussed at the 2013 Summer Institute in Competitive Strategy at the Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley.

Professor Emeritus Nick Thomopoulos Publishes Book on Assembly Line Planning and Control

Professor Nick Thomopoulos recently published his eighth book, titled Assembly Line Planning and Control, through Springer Press. The book describes the basic fundamentals of assembly lines for single model lines, mixed model make-to-stock lines, mixed model make-to-order lines, and for one-station assembly. Detailed instructions cover various sequence decisions and operation calculations to optimize assembly line efficiency. Read more.
