SAT’s Maurice Dawson to Present at SecureWorld Chicago in June
Maurice Dawson, an assistant professor of Information Technology and Management in the School of Applied Technology, will host a training session and give a presentation during SecureWorld Chicago, an event culminating in its third annual conference June 13, 2019, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois.
SecureWorld—an organization that focuses on connecting, informing, and developing leaders in cybersecurity through its 17 annual conferences across North America, via its web resources, and by serving as a hub for cybersecurity news—organizes the event.
The director of Illinois Tech’s Center for Cyber Security and Forensics Education (C2SAFE), Dawson, who is also on the advisory council for the Chicago conference, will host a training session focusing on cyber analytics in connection with the Internet of Things and hyperconnected devices on June 12. During the conference the following day, Dawson will give a presentation, “Rise of Industrial 4.0: Crippling a Country Through Cyber Attacks in Manufacturing,” focusing on how the hyperconnectivity of machines in the sector could leave it vulnerable to a large-scale attack with wide-ranging ramifications.
