Students Invited To Join Weekly Workshops on Quantum Chemistry Methods
To all future computational chemists, drug designers, DNA researchers, material researchers, and related professionals, we are offering you the opportunity to learn foundational research methods for these fields.
Andrey Rogachev, assistant professor of chemistry, will offer a weekly workshop on methods in quantum chemistry beginning on February 5, 2016. The workshops will be held on Fridays from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Wishnick Computer Lab Room 210.
About half of the workshops will be devoted to a discussion of theory, and the other half to hands-on practice in working with software to model molecules and calculate their properties.
Interested students should RSVP by January 22 to Adam Denchfield, president of the Society of Physics Students (SPS), at adenchfi@hawk.iit.edu. All questions about workshops and related materials should be addressed directly to Professor Rogachev.
SPS also is offering advanced programming workshops, quantum computing project meetings, beginner programming/problem solving Python workshops, and more.
