Van Vliet and Gorham Showcase IIT Stuart to MarketsWiki World of Opportunity Summer Interns

Benjamin Van Vliet, Assistant Professor of Finance, and Michael Gorham, Industry Professor of Finance and Director of the Center for Financial Innovation, presented at the second annual MarketsWiki World of Opportunity Summer Intern Education Series. Held at IIT Downtown Campus on July 29 and 31, and August 5, 7, and 8, the series featured speakers from CBOE, BOX, ICE, Spot Trading, S&P Dow Jones Index, CME Group, and more. Van Vliet discussed change in the industry and how it presents opportunity, particularly in high frequency trading. Gorham discussed regulation in the financial markets and the progress he’s observed in his role on the CFTC’s Technology Advisory Committee.
