Water Event: Stormwater Management Issues and Initiatives

The Environmental Law Society at The John Marshall Law School is hosting a program on stormwater management issues and initiatives at 4:45 p.m., Oct. 10 at the law school, 315 S. Plymouth Ct., Chicago.
Managing increased rainfall is taxing local stormwater management practices. Guest speakers will discuss trends in protecting water resources. They also will address ways to prevent public and private property damage, and how climate change, current regulation, and municipal and private homeowner responsibilities can affect the efficacy of stormwater management.
Panelists include: Anthony Charlton, stormwater management director for DuPage County; Abby Crisostomo, water resource program associate at the Metropolitan Planning Council; Aaron Koch, deputy commissioner for Sustainability, City of Chicago Department of Water Management; Nan Newlon, director of Public Works, Downers Grove Township; Brendan O’Connor, principal attorney and an Engineer Department representative, Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago.
